Sophie Daumier

Le XIXe siècle s'éteint mais Amélie, jeune orpheline montée à Paris, ne vit que dans un seul temps, celui de son amour exclusif pour Alain, son cousin, auprès de qui elle a grandi au Mont Saint-Michel. Mais lui se sent prisonnier de l'île et ne rêve que d'être en mer, jusqu'au jour où une coquette "étrangère" le séduit et provoque la lente agonie silencieuse d'Amélie, rongée de langueur mélancolique. Une oeuvre secrète, observation d'êtres trop sensibles, détruits par l'invisible violence de leur condition de vie. Le deuxième film de Michel Drach, auteur des "Violons du Bal" et "Elise ou la vraie vie", est déjà  tendu par cette obsession du cinéaste à dépeindre et défendre des personnages injustement brimés.
